Tethering Pro is designed to operate primarily on your device. Core functionality such as hotspot sharing and proxy services runs locally without requiring account registration or a developer cloud backend.

2. Information the App Processes

The App may process certain information locally on your device, including:

• Hotspot configuration values you enter (name suffix and password)
• Preferred upstream network selection (Active network, Wi-Fi, or Cellular)
• HTTP proxy port settings
• Runtime network information for display (SSID, local IP address, proxy status)
• Proxy traffic statistics including upload and download byte totals

This information is processed locally on your device and is not automatically transmitted to the developer.

3. How Information Is Used

The App uses this information to:

• Create and manage Wi-Fi Direct hotspot or repeater sessions
• Start and manage the local proxy service used by connected devices
• Display connection status and traffic usage in the app interface
• Generate QR codes or share connection credentials when you request sharing

The App does not use this information for advertising, tracking, or profiling.

4. Local Data Storage

Some settings are stored locally on your device using Android storage mechanisms such as SharedPreferences.

Examples include:

• Preferred network selection
• Proxy port configuration
• Hotspot name suffix
• Hotspot password
• Last known proxy status

This data remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

5. Data Sharing

The App does not automatically send personal data to the developer.

When you use Android system sharing features (such as Share or Quick Share), selected hotspot credentials may be shared through applications you choose. Those third-party apps are governed by their own privacy policies.

6. Network Traffic Handling

The App may run a local proxy service as part of hotspot functionality. When active:

• Traffic from connected devices may pass through the proxy
• Processing occurs locally on your device
• The App may measure aggregate upload and download totals to display usage statistics

The App does not collect or transmit browsing data to the developer.

7. Permissions

Depending on the Android version and device capabilities, the App may request certain permissions required for hotspot and networking functionality.

Network permissions

• INTERNET
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
• CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE

Wi-Fi permissions

• ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
• CHANGE_WIFI_STATE
• NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES

Location permission (required on some Android versions for Wi-Fi control)

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION

Notification permission

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (used to display foreground service notifications)

If permissions are denied, certain features may not function correctly.

8. Diagnostics and Logs

The App may generate diagnostic logs through Android system logging tools for troubleshooting and debugging.

Logs may contain technical network metadata such as:

• Host names
• Connection headers
• Proxy status information

These logs remain on the device unless accessed through developer tools.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed toward children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Security

The App relies on Android platform security controls and local processing to minimize data exposure. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

11. International Users

If you use the App outside your country of residence, local laws regarding networking or hotspot usage may differ. Users are responsible for complying with applicable laws in their jurisdiction.
